Programmes Organised by the Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Akademi Under the President ship of Kasaragodu Chinna.

1. Charge Taking Ceremony: Shri Kasaragodu Chinna took over the chairmanship of Karnataka Konkani Sahity Akademi on 12-9-2011. Former chairman Shri Kundapur Narayn Kharvi handed over the baton to him. The welcome and charge handing over ceremony was held in the presence of Former chairman and Mandd Sobhann Gurkar Shri  Eric Ozario, Chairman of Konkani Prachar Sanchalan Shri Roy Castelino and Dr  B Devadas Pai, Registrar Konkani Sahity Akademy.

 


2. Gadi Nadu Konkani Samskruthi Sambhrama (Border Land Konkani Cultural Fest): On 17 and 18 September 2011, a cultural fest of border land Konkani people was held at the Lalit Kala Sadan Kasaragod. The fest was inaugurated by Shri N Nellikunnu, MLA-Kasaragod on 17-9-2011. Dr B Devadas Pai, Registrar Konkani Sahity Akademy, Shri K Giridhar V Kamath, Trustee, Varadaraja Temple, Fr Naveen Dsouza, Parish Priest Kasaragod, Shri K Jayanth Nayak, Trustee, Durgaparameshwari Temple, Shri S V Bhatt, President Kasaragod Kannada Sahitya Parishat and Vidwan Uppangal Narayan Sharma were present as guests of honor during the programme. Many programmes and tableus representing the Konkani Culture and Language were presented during the fest. The valedictory of the fest was held on 18-9-2011 at 4-30 pm in the premises of Shri Varadaraja Venkatramana temple.

3. Music Workshop: The Music workshop was inaugurated on 29-8-2011 and the valedictory of the same was held on  1-10-2011 at Rotary BalBhavan Mangalore. Shri T Ranga Pai, Principal Dr T M A Pai Polytechnic Mangalore inaugurated the Valedictory Programme. Shri Kasaragodu Chinna, President Karnataka Konkani Sahity Akademy presided over the programme. Advocate Shri M Rajesh Kudva, Cine Director Shri Charan Kumar, Dr M R Kamath and Dr B Devadas Pai, Registrar Konkani Sahity Akademy were present. After the stage programme a beautiful music programme was presented.

4. Swara Sevanjali: On 5-10-2011, a Swara Sevanjali programme was conducted at Shri Bhuvanendra Hall, Canara High School, Dongarakeri, Mangalore in collaboration with the Sevanjali Charitable Trust. Shri Narendra Naik of the Expert Education Institutes inaugurated the programme. Smt. Hundi Prabha Kamth, Principal, Canara Junior College. Shri Yogish Bhatt, Hon’ble Deputy Speaker Karnataka Legislative Assembly inaugurated the Devotinal songs singing organised as the  part of this programme. Shri Kasaragodu Chinna, President Karnataka Konkani Sahity Akademy presided over the programme. Shri Nalin Kumar Kateel, Member of Parliament, Mangalore, Shri C L Shenoy, Managing Trustee Venkataramana Temple, Akademy Member Shri Mangalpady Namadev Shenoy, Sevanjali Charitable Trust President Shri Ved Kamat and Dr  B Devadas Pai, Registrar Konkani Sahity Akademy were present in the programme.

5. A Konkani Story telling Programme was held at Mysore G S B Samaj, J. L. B. Road, Mysore under the President’s Special and Emergency Programmes Schemes on 23-10-2011.

6. Konkani Sampada: A symposium of assimilating Konkani into School system was held on 29, 30 and 31 October 2011. The stress was on implementing of Konkani into D. Ed and B. Ed syllabi. The inaugauration of this programme was done by Shri Yogish Bhatt, Hon’ble Deputy Speaker Karnataka Legislative Assembly at Canara Hr Pry School. Shri Kasaragodu Chinna, President Karnataka Konkani Sahity Akademy presided over the programme. Various papers pertaining to Konkani in School System were presented during the three days. During the evening hours cultural programmes were held.

7. Konkani in SSLC Exams; A Celebration:- The Konkani entered the primary schools in Karnataka in the year 2007 and during 2011-12, the first batch of SSLC students answered their Third Language exams in Konkani. To celebrate this joyful occasion, a commemoration programme was held at St Sebastian’s Com P U College, Permannur. The Study materials were distributed to the teachers and to the students. Shri Kasaragodu Chinna, President Karnataka Konkani Sahity Akademy presided over the programme. Mandd Sobhann President Shri Stany Alvares, Cine Artist Shri Vittobha Bhandarkar, Principal Fr. Clement Mascarenhas took part in the programme as Guests of Honor. Dr B Devadas Pai, Registrar Konkani Sahity Akademy compered the programme.

8. On 10-3-2012 a committee of the experts met at the Akademy to prepare the Konkani Sylabi for pre university classes.

9. Kavita Mogare: ‘Kavita Mogare’ a Konkani Poetry Recital programme was held at the Akademy Hall. Renowned Surgeon and senior Konkani Social Activist Dr Madhava Bhandari inaugaurated the programme. Shri Kasaragodu Chinna, President Karnataka Konkani Sahity Akademy presided over the programme. Shri Shantaram Baliga coordinated the Kavi Goshtti, Editor-‘Panckaddayi’ Konkani journal, Akademy Member Shri Mangalpady Namadev Shenoy, Journalist Shri Rajesh Kini was the Guest of Honor.

10. Kavanamrita: ‘Kavanamrita’ a Konkani Poetry Recital programme was held on 24-3-2012 at Kundapur. Shri K Umesh Pai, Chief Manager, Canara Bank inaugaurated the programme. Shri Kasaragodu Chinna, President Karnataka Konkani Sahity Akademy presided over the programme. Shri Melwyn Rodrigues, recipient of Sahity Akademy Award coordinated the Kavi Goshtti, Literary Personae of fame Shri Om Ganesh Uppunda, Shri Vinay Pais, President Kundapur Journalists Association and Shri Ashok Shet, renowned businessman were  the Guests of Honor.

11. Konkani Education - A Reflection: On 3-4-2012, a days programme on reflection over Konkani Education was held at Mandd Sobhann in collaboration with Mandd Sobhann Mangalore. Shri Arun Furtado, District Social Welfare Officer inaugaurated the programme Shri Kasaragodu Chinna, President Karnataka Konkani Sahity Akademy presided over the programme. Former chairman and Mandd Sobhann Gurkar Shri  Eric Ozario, Chairman of Konkani Prachar Sanchalan Shri Roy Castelino and Dr  B Devadas Pai, Registrar Konkani Sahity Akademy were the Guests of Honor. 111 teachers teaching Konkani in schools took part in the programme.

12. Konkani Natakotsav and Konkani Rangamanthan: On 28-04-2012 and 29-04-2012 two days Konkani Natakotsav (Drama Fest) and Konkani Rangamanthan (Reflectory on Konkani Theatre) was held at Udupi Shri LaxmiVenkatesha temple premises. Shri Raghupathi Bhatt, MLA Udupi inaugaurated the programme Shri Kasaragodu Chinna, President Karnataka Konkani Sahity Akademy presided over the programme. Shri Somashekara Bhatt, Former Chairman, Udupi Town Muncipality, Dr Shantharam of Manipal Education Institutes, Shri Shyam Prasad Kudva, Member, Udupi Town Muncipality, Shri P V Shenoy, Managing Trustee, LaxmiVenkatesha temple and Dr Gerald Pinto of Milagres College Kallianpur were the Guests of Honor. As the part of the programme ‘Vakkal’ drama of Pallavi Drama Troupe Karkal and ‘Master Plan’ drama of Shri LaxmiVenkatesha Konkani Nataka Sabha were staged. On 29-4-2012 a seminar on Konkani Dramas was held under the chairmanship of Shri Om Ganesh Uppunda, Dr Jayavanth Nayak of University College Mangalore and Renowned Poetess Smt. Catherine Rodrigues presented papers. During the valedictory Shri Mohandas Prabhu, Smt. Geetha Samante, Shri Raj Gopal Shet and Shri Walter Monteiro were felicitated in honor of their services to Konkani Theatre.

13. Konkani Lokaveda Kalamelha: A one day Konkani Folk Culture Fest was held at Samaja Mandira, Manchikeri, Yellapur on  03-06-2012. Shri Pavan Kumar B Kesara, President Manchikeri Grama Panchayat inaugaurated the programme, Shri Kasaragodu Chinna, President Karnataka Konkani Sahity Akademy presided over the programme. Shri Somashekara Bhatt, Former Chairman, Udupi Town Muncipality, Fr Lazarus Miranda, Zilla Panchayat Member Shri Ramakrishna Bhatt and Dr  B Devadas Pai, Registrar Konkani Sahity Akademy were the Guests of Honor. The eminent persons who have rendered yeomen service to the Konkani Folk Culture were felicitated during the programme. The cultural troupes like that’s of Shri Girish Parashurama Siddi, Shri Nagesh Anwekar, Smt Susheela Siddi, Shri Jannu Navalu Patil, Smt Vasuda Shet, Smt Lakxmi Siddi, Shri M B Shet, Shri Sver Siddi, Shri Girish Shirwadkar and of Shri Vishwanath Shet performed various Konkani folk cultural programmes.

14. Konkani Sahity Ratha-1: The Akademy organized a Konkani Literary Chariot programme named Konkani Sahity Ratha. During this programme Akademy distributed 18000 books worth Rupees ten Lakh to 120 educational Institutes. The Inaugural of this programme was held at Lourdes Central School Bejai on 21-6-2012. Shri Narendra Naik of Expert Educational Institutes inaugaurated the programme, Shri Kasaragodu Chinna, President Karnataka Konkani Sahity Akademy presided over the programme. Rev. Fr Dr Victor Machado, Manager,Lourdes Central School, Rev. Fr Ferdinand Gonsalves, Principal  Lourdes Central School, Former chairman and Mandd Sobhann Gurkar Shri  Eric Ozario, Shri Moses Jayashekar, DDPI Dakshina Kannada and Chairman of Konkani Prachar Sanchalan Shri Roy Castelino and Dr B Devadas Pai, Registrar Konkani Sahity Akademy were present during the programme. The valedictory of the programme was held at Canara Hr Pry  School. Social Activist Shri Shrikara Prabhu, Shri Pradeep Pai of Shri Krishna Milk Dairy and Shri Vaman Kamath, Correspondent, Canara Hr Pry  School Were the Guests of Honor.

15. Felicitation: 60 students wrote Konkani as Third Language in their S S L C Exams and passed scoring high marks during 2012. They were felicitated on 23-6-2012. The inaugauration of this programme was done by Shri Yogish Bhatt, Hon’ble Deputy Speaker Karnataka Legislative Assembly at Akademy Hall. He felicitated the students. Rev. Fr Francis Rodrigues of Raknno Konkani Weekly, Shri Manohar Prasad, Bureau Chief, Udayavani, Shri Rajendrakanth Shet, President Daiwajna Brahmana Sangha were the Guests of Honor

16. Konkani Sugandh: On 30-6-2012 a  Monthly Konkani Cultural Programme named Konkani Sugandh (Flare of Konkani) was held at Konkani Akademy Hall. This programme was inaugurated by Shri Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP-Mangalore Shri Kasaragodu Chinna, President Karnataka Konkani Sahity Akademy presided over the programme. Shri Umanath Kotian, President Karnataka Tulu Sahity Akademy was the Guest of Honor. During the programme renowned cardiologist Dr Mohan Pai presented a paper on ‘ Konkani Education in Karnataka’ and renowned poet Shri Melwin Rodrigues spoke on ‘Konkani Poetry’. Shri Benedict Miranda and Smt Asha Dinesh Nayak were felicitated during the programme in respect to their services to Konkani Theatre. Smt Sudha Prabhu Kulashekar rendered devotional programme during the programme.

17. Ghor Ghora Konkani-1: With an intention of taking Konkani to every house a unique programme named Ghor Ghora Konkani (Konkani to Every House) was chalked out. The first of the series was held at the house of renowned cardiologist Dr Mohan Pai on 1-7-2012. This programme was inaugurated by Shri Kasaragodu Chinna. Mangalore Shri Kasaragodu Chinna, President Karnataka Konkani Sahity Akademy. Dr B Devadas Pai, Registrar Konkani Sahity Akademy and the members of the Akademy were present during the programme. Many cultural programmes were held as part of this programme.

18. Ghor Ghora Konkani-2: The second Ghor Ghora Konkani (Konkani to Every House) programme was held at the house of Smt Sheela Nayak Member Karnataka Konkani Sahity Akademy

19. Konkani Sahity Ratha-2: The second Konkani Literary Chariot programme named Konkani Sahity Ratha was held around Bantwal Town during 13-7-2012 and 14-07-2012. The Inaugural of this programme was held at Infant Jesus English Medium School, Modankapp. Shri B Ramanth Rai, MLA Bantwal inaugurated the programme. Shri Kasaragodu Chinna, President Karnataka Konkani Sahity Akademy presided over the programme. Rev. Fr Roque Dsouza, Correspondent Infant Jesus English Medium School, Modankapp, Shri K Sudhakara, Block Education Officer, Bantwal and Shri Mannur Laxman Kamath of SVS Educational Institues were the Guests of Honor.

20. Konkani Samvedana-1: The Konkani Samvedana Programme on Konkani Music was held at Akademy Hall on 14-7-2012. Renowned Tabla Artiste Shri Mangaldas Gulvady K inaugurated the programme. Shri Kasaragodu Chinna, President Karnataka Konkani Sahity Akademy presided over the programme. Smt. Vasanti R Naik, Music artist of fame and Shri Agnel Rodrigues, wellknown journalist were the Guests of Honor. Shri S Shivananda Shet differently abled Tabla artist was fecilitated during the programme. His Tabla rendering was held during the programme.

21. Ghor Ghora Konkani-3: Ghor Ghora Konkani programme was started with the intention of spreading the spirit of Konkani language and culture all over. The Third Ghor Ghora Konkani programme was held at the house of Shri Chempi Ramachandra Bhatt, Udupi. Shri Kasaragodu Chinna, President Karnataka Konkani Sahity Akademy presided over the programme. Dr B Devadas Pai, Registrar Konkani Sahity Akademy and the members of the Akademy were present during the programme. Various programmes showcasing Konkani Culture were held during this programme.

22. Ghor Ghora Konkani-4: The fourth Ghor Ghora Konkani programme, as a part of spreading the spirit of Konkani language and culture all over was held at the house of Shri Rajesh Patil on 29-07-2012. Shri Kasaragodu Chinna, President Karnataka Konkani Sahity Akademy presided over the programme. Dr B Devadas Pai, Registrar Konkani Sahity Akademy and the members of the Akademy were present during the programme. Various programmes showcasing Konkani Culture were held during this programme

23. Konkani KhilhKhilho: The Konkani Akademy started a series of Konkani Cultural Programmes with an intention of carrying Konkani spirit into the schools and amidst the students. On 4-8-2012, as differently abled Shri Suresh Nayak inaugurated this programme lighting the lamp, young children started playing with KhilhKhilho, a trinket with strings and tiklers  at Akademy Hall. This young man, of 42 years look as if of a child of 4 years, has made name in Limca Book of Records by his memory power. Talented Children Merula Pinto and Jayaram were the Guests of Honor. Shri Kasaragodu Chinna, President Karnataka Konkani Sahity Akademy presided over the programme. In his presidential address Shri Chinna stressed on the need of creating cultural and linguistic sensitivity among the young minds. Shri raghavendra Rao of Canara High School, Mains organized a cultural programme involving young students.

24. Ghor Ghora Konkani-5: Fifth Ghor Ghora Konkani programme was held on 5-8-2012 at the house of Konkani Literary Personae Shri Marcel Dsouza. Shri Kasaragodu Chinna, President Karnataka Konkani Sahity Akademy presided over the programme. Dr B Devadas Pai, Registrar Konkani Sahity Akademy, the members of the Akademy and the members of the Marcel Dsouza family were present during the programme. Various programmes showcasing Konkani Culture were held during this programme.

25. Ghor Ghora Konkani-6: Sixth Ghor Ghora Konkani programme was held on 5-8-2012 at the house of Konkani Literary Personae Shri Suresh Minin Lopes. Shri Kasaragodu Chinna, President Karnataka Konkani Sahity Akademy presided over the programme. Dr B Devadas Pai, Registrar Konkani Sahity Akademy, the members of the Akademy and the members of the Suresh Lopes  family were present during the programme. Various programmes showcasing Konkani Culture were held during this programme.

26. Teachers Workshop: A workshop for the teachers teaching Konkani in schools was held on 6-8-2012 and 7-8-2012. 53 teachers took part in this workshop. Rev. Fr Valerian Fernandes, Shri Melwyn Rodrigues, Shri Alwyn D’sa, Shri Raghavendra Rao and Shri Vitori Karkal served in this workshop as resource persons.

27. Ranga Vaibhava-2012: Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Akademy and Ranga Taranga ® Uppunda jointly organized the ‘Ranga Vaibhava’ Regional Konkani Drama Celebration on 11-8-2012 and 12-8-2012. Shri kota Shrinivas Poojary, Minister District-in charge-Udupi inaugurated the programme. Shri K Laxminarayana, MLA Byndoor was the Chief Guest, Shri Kasaragodu Chinna, President Karnataka Konkani Sahity Akademy presided over the programme. Shri  Kuyiladi Suresh Nayak, Chairman APMC Udupi, Shri Mohandas Shenoy, Chairman Kundapura Town Muncipality, Shri Radhakrishna Shenoy, President GSB-Sarva Devala, Renowned Auditor Shri Ramachandra Prabhu, Rev. Fr Francis Cornelio and Shri Riyaz Ahmed  Guests of Honor. During the programme AIR and DD music artist Smt Pramila, Dramatists Shri Bernard G DaCosta, Shri K G Shanubhag, Shri Shantharam Hegde Kundapur, Shri Manjunath Rao and Shri Trivikrama Rao were felicitated during this programme. Artists from the Holy Cross Church, Byndoor presented ‘Swarthi Sownsar’ directed by Martin. NaikanaKatte Shri Venkatramana Seva Samiti members played ‘Ghade Ek Fotti’ directed by Shri Prabhu Uppunda. Ramanatha Mesta directed the play ‘Te Khonn?’ and Maruti Nataka Sangha staged ‘Brohmale Ganti’ produced by Shantharam Hegde and directed by Shri Ravindra Prabhu Shirali. On 12-8-2012 a discourse on Konkani Theatre was held. In this discourse 25 theatre artists took active part. On the same evening valedictory of this programme was held.

28. Konkani Samvedana-2: The second Konkani Samvedana Programme on Konkani Music was held at Akademy Hall on 13-8-2012. Renowned Konkani Singer  Shri Claud D'Souza inaugurated the programme. Shri Kasaragodu Chinna, President Karnataka Konkani Sahity Akademy presided over the programme. Shri Janardhana Gouda, President Dakshina Kannada Zilla Pancjayat Social Justice committee, Shri Venkataesh Baliga, Editor ‘Kodiyal Khobar’ were the Guests of Honor. Shri Vijaya Kumar Bhatt, deferently abled singer was felicitated during the programme. Shri Vijaya Kumar Bhatt and his team rendered musical show during this programme.

29. YuvaJanapada Utsava: Karnataka Konkani Sahity Akademy in collaboration with Konkani Sangh, St Aloysius College Mangalore organised YuvaJanapada Utsava (Youth Folk Culture Fest) on 24-08-2012 at St Aloysius College Auditorium. Rev. Fr Walter Andrade SJ inaugurated the programme. Shri Kasaragodu Chinna, President Karnataka Konkani Sahity Akademy presided over the programme. Shri Satish Bhatt, Principal Canara College and Smt. Anitha Kini, Renowned Advocate were the Guests of Honor. Four Young achievers were felicitated during this programme. Students from various colleges of Mangalore University jurisdiction took active part in the various competetions held as the part of this programme.They all presented cultural programmes showing the richness of Konkani culture

30. Visit of Chandru: Shri Mukhya Mantri Chandru, Chairman Kannada Development Authority visited Konkani Akademy on 25-8-2012 and held dialogue with the authorities of the Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Akademy. Chairman of the Akademy Shri Chinna Kasaragodu, Registrar Dr B Devadas Pai and the members Shri Ashok Shet, Shri Mahesh R Nayak, Tulu cine director Shri Vijay Kumar Kodialbail, theatre artist Shri Vitobha Bhandarkar, Smt. Smitha Prabhu, Shri M R Kamath, Shri Lawrence, Smt. Anitha Kini and other prominent people took part in this discussion. Shri Chandru, while talking to the gathering, spoke of the richness of Karnataka, her various languages and diverse cultures. Highlighting the political changes that are taking place, spoke of the need of the academies and their specific role.

31. Konkani Singing Training: On 26-08-2012 a days training programme was held for the benefit of the Konkani Singers at Shimoga. 50 singers from various parts of the Konkani world took part in this training camp held under the guidance of famous singer Shri M S Kamath.

32. Ghor Ghora Konkani-7:  Seventh Ghor Ghora Konkani programme was held on 26-8-2012 at the house of Smt Deepali Kambadakone. Shri Kasaragodu Chinna, President Karnataka Konkani Sahity Akademy presided over the programme. Dr B Devadas Pai, Registrar Konkani Sahity Akademy, the members of the Akademy and the members of the Kambadakone family were present during the programme. Various programmes showcasing Konkani Culture were held during this programme.

33. Ghor Ghora Konkani-8: Eighth Ghor Ghora Konkani programme was held on 26-8-2012 at the house of Shri Ramesh Krishna. Shri Kasaragodu Chinna, President Karnataka Konkani Sahity Akademy presided over the programme. Dr B Devadas Pai, Registrar Konkani Sahity Akademy, the members of the Akademy and the members of the Shri Ramesh Krishna family were present during the programme. Various programmes showcasing Konkani Culture were held during this programme.

34. Konkani Zenkar: On 1-9-2012, a Konkani Musical presentation in the name of ‘Konkani Zenkar’ was held at the Akademy Hall. Famous Konkani Theatre artist Shri Arun Raj inaugurated the programme. Shri Kasaragodu Chinna, President Karnataka Konkani Sahity Akademy presided over the programme. Shri M R Kamth, Former President of the Konkani Cultural Association, Mangalore was the Chief Guest. Renowned Musicians Smt Babita D’sa and Shri Muralidhar Kamat were felicitated during this programme. Young artists Deelon, Lavita and party presented Konkani musical programme.

35. Ghor Ghora Konkani-9: Ninth Ghor Ghora Konkani programme was held on 2-9-2012 at the house of Shri Jagadish Shenoy. Shri Kasaragodu Chinna, President Karnataka Konkani Sahity Akademy presided over the programme. Dr B Devadas Pai, Registrar Konkani Sahity Akademy, the members of the Akademy and the members of the Shri Jagadish Shenoy family were present during the programme. Various programmes showcasing Konkani Culture were held during this programme.

36. Konkani Teachers Day: On 6-9-2012 Karnataka Konkani Sahity Akademy held Teachers Day at Mijar Govinda Pai Auditorium, Canara High School, Urwa. Shri Ganesh Karanik,Vice President of the Non Resident Indians Committee-Govt of Karnataka inaugurated the day’s programmes.Karnataka Kula Tilaka BharataNatya teacher Shri Ullal Mohan Rao gave a start to the programme by playing ‘Gumate’ the Konkani’s own musical instrument. Shri Kasaragodu Chinna, President Karnataka Konkani Sahity Akademy presided over the programme. Mandd Sobhann Gurkar Shri Eric Ozario, Chairman of Konkani Prachar Sanchalan and member of the Akademy Shri Roy Castelino, Shri Mahesh R Nayak, Shri Ashok Shet, Shri S S Kamat of Canara High School Association and Dr B Devadas Pai, Registrar Konkani Sahity Akademy were the Guests of Honor. 116 Konkani teachers from various parts of the state were present in the programme.

37. Konkani Singing Training Bangalore: On 09-09-2012 a days training programme was held for the benefit of the Konkani Singers at KashiMutt Bangalore. Singers from various parts of the Konkani world took part in this training camp held under the guidance of famous singer Shri Puttur Narasimha Nayak.

38. Ghor Ghora Konkani-10: Tenth Ghor Ghora Konkani programme was held on 15-9-2012 at the house of Shri Meeran. This programme was inaugurated by Shri Vinod Prabhu, Chairman Karnataka Cashew Development Board. Shri Kasaragodu Chinna, President Karnataka Konkani Sahity Akademy presided over the programme. Dr B Devadas Pai, Registrar Konkani Sahity Akademy, the members of the Akademy and the members of the Shri  Meeran family were present during the programme. Various programmes showcasing Konkani Culture were held during this programme.

39. Ghor Ghora Konkani-11: Tenth Ghor Ghora Konkani programme was held on 15-9-2012 afternoon at the house of Shri Ramanath Mesta. Shri Kasaragodu Chinna, President Karnataka Konkani Sahity Akademy presided over the programme. Dr B Devadas Pai, Registrar Konkani Sahity Akademy, the members of the Akademy and the members of the Shri Ramanath Mesta family were present during the programme. Various programmes showcasing Konkani Culture were held during this programme.

40. Konkani Singing Training Mangalore: On 16-09-2012 a days training programme was held for the benefit of the Konkani Singers at Kalangann, Shaktinagar Mangalore. Singers from various parts of the Konkani world took part in this training camp held under the guidance of famous singer Shri Eric Ozario

41. Ghor Ghora Konkani-12: Twelfth Ghor Ghora Konkani programme was held on 16-9-2012 afternoon at the house of Shri Nagaraj Shet. Shri Kasaragodu Chinna, President Karnataka Konkani Sahity Akademy presided over the programme. Dr B Devadas Pai, Registrar Konkani Sahity Akademy, the members of the Akademy and the members of the Shri Nagaraj Shet family were present during the programme. Various programmes showcasing Konkani Culture were held during this programme.
          
42. Konkani Haso: On 22-9-2012 Karnataka Konkani Sahity Akademy held a Konkani Humor and Jokes programme at Akademy Hall. Shri Basti Vaman Shenoy, President of the Konkani Bhas Ani Samskruthi Prathisthan inaugurated the day’s programmes. Shri Kasaragodu Chinna, President Karnataka Konkani Sahity Akademy presided over the programme. Konkani Writer Dr Edward Nazareth was the Chief Guest. Senior Artisan and theatre artist from the VaishyaVani Samaja Shri K Sheshagiri Rao and talented as well as courageous lady Kum Sabitha Monis, who having lost both hands, dared to move forward were felicitated.Famous Humorists Smt Sandhya Shenoy of Udupi, Shri K Ramananda Kamat, Kundapur and Shri Felix Saldanha and team presented the programme on jokes, and made people joyful.

43. Gadi Nadu Konkani Janapada Utsava (Border Land Konkani Cultural Fest): On 23-09-2012, Konkani Sahity Akademy in collaboration with ICYM, Narampady, organized a cultural fest of border land Konkani people was held at the School Grounds of Narampady School. The fest was inaugurated by Rev. Fr Antony Lasrado, Parish Priest Narampady. Shri Kasaragodu Chinna, President Karnataka Konkani Sahity Akademy presided over the programme.
Mandd Sobhann Gurkar Shri Eric Ozario, former president of Grama Panchayat Shri Sundara Prabhu were present in the programme as Guests of Honor. Shri Raju Ukkinadka, Shri Wilson Kayyar and Shri Harish Perla were felicitated during this programme. Catholic, Kharvi and GSB teams presented cultural programmes representing the Konkani life of their people. Shri Roy Castelino welcomed the gathering. Dr B Devadas Pai, Registrar Konkani Sahity Akademy, Shri Ashok Shetwere present in the programme.

44. Konkani Sthree (Konkani Woman): On 29-09-2012, Konkani Sahity Akademy  organized a programme on the role of Konkani Woman in literature and Konkani life. The programme was inaugurated by Smt Usha Kini, Station programme Executive of DoorDarshan Bangalore. Smt Jayashree Shanubhague was the Guest of Honor. Shri Kasaragodu Chinna, President Karnataka Konkani Sahity Akademy presided over the programme.Senior social worker Miss Judith Mascarenhas propsed the vote of felicitation. Smt Shakuntala R Kini, Smt Florine Roche, Miss Catherine Rodrigues and Dr Geetha Shenoy presented papers on contributions of Konkani women for the various fields of life. 50 achievers who had taken part in this programme, their contribution to Konkani life were recognized. Smt Gladis Rego and Smt Jayanthi Shanubhague were felicitated during this programme. As part of the programme there was presentation of light music by  Shri Eric Ozario and Smt Vidya Gulvady.
